Explore Ocean City

Ocean City, Maryland is a popular east coast beach destination, located on the Northern Maryland coast on the Delaware border. If you are unfamiliar with Ocean City, we recommend starting with the area guide.

Ocean City is a beach lovers paradise.  Our white sandy beaches are raked nightly, have stationed lifeguards along most of them from Memorial Day to Labor Day, and are all easily accessible and open to the public.  Oh, and they are FREE.   The most popular and busiest beaches in Ocean City are in the downtown area along the boardwalk.  This starts at the inlet and runs up to 27th street. As you get North of the boardwalk the beaches and areas get a little less busy, so if you are looking for a more relaxing experience and don’t need to be near the all the boardwalk action, North Ocean City is where you should look.  This is generally North of 28th Street all the way up the coastline.

Quick Facts about the Ocean City Beaches

  • All Ocean City beaches are free to the public.
  • Umbrellas and Sun Shades are allowed, but can not be in front of the lifeguard stations.
  • Alcohol is not allowed on the beach.
  • Pets are not allowed on the beach or boardwalk between May 1st and Sept 30th.
