Local Beers Available in Stores & On Tap
Craft beer is booming at the beach and the area that was once only known for Dogfish Head is now one of the fastest growing brewery and craft beer destinations on the east coast. Here you’ll find brewery listings, discounted gift certificates to save you 40%, coupons, articles, restaurants serving up local beer, and the Best of Ocean City® winners.
There are 2 breweries in Ocean City, 7 more under an hour away, nearly 20 within a short drive, and more popping up every year. For world class beer and world class beauty along with links to breweries, craft beer hotel packages, tours, and much more, go to ShoreCraftBeer.com.
Local beers have taken over the taps at many Ocean City bars, lots of local chefs are integrating craft beer into their customer’s dining experiences, and establishments like the Seacrets, Dunes Manor, Greene Turtle, and Buxy’s even offer privately labeled beers brewed by local breweries. Love to drink local? Ocean City’s craft beer and brewery scene will not disappoint.
Be sure to check out Ocean City’s first brewery, and co-star of the upcoming beer documentary, “Blood, Sweat, and Beer,” Backshore Brewing Co. Located at 10th St and the Boardwalk, Backshore offers some of the best craft beer in Ocean City, and, with a front seat to the Atlantic Ocean, one of the best views of any brewery anywhere.
Heading out of town on Route 50, you’ll find the Fin City Brewing Co. located in the rafters of Hooper’s Crab House. Stop by to taste Ocean City’s original microbrew, or grab a six pack at your favorite beer store.
Some of the area’s best local brew can also be found on your way to Ocean City along Route 50. Burley Oak Brewing Co. in Berlin has been rated world-class by Beer Advocate and is known for creative beers that push the envelope.
Just up the road in Salisbury is the Evolution Craft Brewing Co., which has emerged as one of the premier breweries in the region over the past few years. Stop by Evo to enjoy a flight in the tasting room, or dinner in the spectacular Public House Restaurant, an upscale brewpub that highlights local beer and local food.
The beer journey doesn’t end there. You can check out Coastal Delaware’s Crooked Hammock or Big Oyster Brewing Co., Brick Works in Smyrna, DE, Tall Tales just off Route 50 in Parsonsburg and even more.
Don’t forget to check out ShoreCraftBeer.com as well for complete coverage of the local beer scene, including the latest news, updates, and insights.
