Roof blows off Condo building in Ocean City Md.
A powerful storm blew through Ocean City this morning, Friday May 24th, bringing heavy rain and winds. Around 9.30am, the roof of a condo building on 53rd Street blew clean off. The  debris landed in the canals behind the building, narrowly missing some small homes which were directly in its path.  https://youtu.be/y67TJMnOmT0 Neighbors were seen to be helping with the cleanup which followed.  Ron Croker, owner of Odyssea Watersports, said he was crossing the Rt90 Bridge, headed for Ocean City this morning, when he saw the sky looking very odd. Some of the debris from the roof landed in the canal near Odyssea Watersports, and pieces of insulation could be seen on their parking lot and along 52nd street. Owner's of Bayside Boat Rentals have friends who stay in the damaged condo building, and said the place looks destroyed, and it may need to be gutted. Watch Bayside Boat Rental's marina camera of the storm with microburst when it hit the condo. https://youtu.be/6lLV5fuVIg0 By early afternoon, a barge had appeared to help with the clean up. https://youtu.be/f_tBe65XsCo   There have been no reports of injury, but a long clean up is probably ahead for the affected building and its residents.  Here are some photos of the damage shortly after it occurred.
