Jolly Roger Amusements have added another ride to their arsenal of adventures for the summer of 2011. Flatland ziplines. A zipline consists of a cable, two secured points, a harness, and a person willing to sail through the sky.
The Jolly Roger zipline differs from most others due to the lack of altitude in Ocean City, MD. Most ziplines found around the world use natural altitude to progress from point A to point B. The newest Ocean City amusements uses several raised platforms, poles, and planks to achieve the height needed to gain speed while ziplining.
The start of the zip line is located 60 feet above one of Speed World’s raceways on Philadelphia Avenue in Ocean City. More than 1,100 feet of steel cable make up the entire zipline track.
An attended will be present at all times to handle the ziplines and those trying the amusement. You’ll be pulled backwards for 20-feet before finishing in the landing zone. Sound like a rush?
Try the Extreme Ziplines at Speedworld by Jolly Roger this summer in Ocean City. The zipline is located inside of Speedworld on Philadelphia Avenue. The zipline will open at 3 pm on Friday, and 11 am on Saturday and Sunday.
