During the last OceanCity.com Party Night at De Lazy Lizard on 1st Street in the bay three gentlemen sang, “You’re just too good to be true. I can’t keep my eyes off of you…” into their microphones as a crowded bar watched on, mingled, and enjoyed the beachy atmosphere.
The trio that makes up Time Police rock to the lyrics of a variety of favorite songs from the past several years. “They have a very unique style. I’m a big fan,” says Chris Carollo of Brooklyn, New York who saw the Time Police perform in Ocean City this summer.
Since last summer, Ryan Psota, Aaron Chamber, and Myles Pennington have been singing a’capella and playing acoustically in Ocean City and surrounding areas. The three 20-year-olds live in Salisbury, MD. During the summer the trio can been seen playing shows throughout OC. When summer comes to a close the guys travel to Towson University, the University of Maryland: College Park, and the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA to study.
Time Police focuses on playing experimental music that everyone will enjoy. Some of their favorites to perform are Hey Jude, All My Lovin’, In the Still of the Night, Ain’t No Sunshine, Killing me Softly, and Slow Dance. All of these are crowd pleasers when Ryan, Aaron, and Myles sing to the strum of Myles’ guitar.
This all-purpose acoustic trio has made appearances at the local Delmarva radio station, 93.5 The Beach, to sing songs like Bob Marley’s No Woman No Cry over their air. Other places they play frequently are De Lazy Lizard, Brass Balls Saloon, The Angler, and The Jive all in Ocean City.
The a’capella bunch considers themselves strictly as vocalists. Aaron even uses his deep voice as a percussion tool while performing. You’ll hear clapping, clicking, slapping, and lots of voice when the boys are singing. Between songs, the trio talk back and forth, crack jokes, and have a fun time interacting with their audience.
Last Tuesday, the band even left the OceanCity.com Party Night with a gift certificate to a local OC business. We’d like to thank Time Police to bringing some positive energy, good vibes, and fun to our Party Night at De Lazy Lizard last week.
