Ocean City

This week in OC: October 10-16, 2014

Heading to Ocean City, Md this weekend? Here’s a look at events, activities and other things to do around town this week:

– The last of Ocean City’s major annual car shows is upon us as Endless Summer Cruisin’ rolled into town Thursday. Thousands of souped up cars and tricked out trucks, contests and shows, live performances, celebrity appearances, and more take over the Inlet Parking Lot and Convention Center all weekend. Don’t miss your chance to keep summer alive one last weekend, shine up your classic, Hot Rod or muscle car and make your way to the beach.

–  Twice a year, Ocean City gives you the chance to taste the best the town has to offer with the phenomenon known as Restaurant Week. This two week celebration features special pricing and creative, seasonal dishes from some of the resort’s top chefs. Participating restaurants offering up unique dishes and special menu prices include: BJ’s on the Water, The Blue Ox Bar & Grill, Captain’s Galley II, Captain’s Table, 15th Street, Crab Alley, Crab Bag, DaVinci’s By the Sea, Duffy’s Tavern, The Original Greene Turtle, Happy Jack Pancake House, Hemmingway’s at The Coral Reef, Horizons Oceanfront Restaurant, Jules Restaurant, Layton’s on 92nd, Longboard Café, OC Brewing Company, Peaky’s Rooftop, The Hobbit Restaurant, The Shark on the Harbor, Sunset Avenue, and Touch of Italy.

– The Ocean City chapter of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is highly active in their quest and this weekend the group hosts one of the biggest events in the annual ‘Pink Ribbon Classic’: Jammin Out Cancer. Taking place at Seacrets from 5-9pm on Saturday, October 11, this charity bash features live music, a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, free drink, and more!. Get your tickets early at the Ocean City Convention Center for $15, or $20 at the door but, either way, put on your pink and head to Jamaica USA to help make a difference.

– The first annual ‘Brews for Boobs’ series is still underway and bringing together craft beer lovers who want to join the fight against breast cancer. This week, the charity event goes on the road to the 3rd Wave Brewing Co., in nearby Delmar, for a night of live music and locally made beer for a good cause. With no cover charge, delicious new beers on tap, and a portion of all proceeds benefiting Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, Brews for Boobs is one charity event you do not want to miss!
