It’s still gorgeous here at the beach, and Halloween happenings in Ocean City this weekend will coincide with one of the biggest wine festivals in the region to make for plenty to do. And, as we’ve pointed out here, there are lots of free things to do as well as restaurants to dine in and excursions to make.
But let’s start with the wine.
After being cancelled earlier this month as a storm bore down on Ocean City earlier this month, Wine on the Beach has been rescheduled for this weekend and, as of this writing, there are already a bunch of people enjoying themselves out on the beach, and more surely will follow.
I was speaking with several people who said that their hotels were accommodating when it came to changing their reservations, which gives one the opinion that people still were planning on coming to the event. Roel Bargas and Tom Johnson were attending for the ninth time. The first time, they just stumbled onto the event. Since then, they come annually. That’s how cool the festival is.
Autumn Home and Condo Show and Arts and Crafts Fair
Another of the staple Ocean City Events, this massive show held at the Ocean City Convention Center has something for everyone. Although there always is plenty of entertainment and other attractions, lots of people use this event as an early holiday shopping opportunity or to get ideas about ways to redecorate for the coming season.
The arts and crafts fair has become a popular addition over the last few years because it gives people access to local artisans from all over the region, who make it a point to be at these shows with their best work.
Halloween Fun Run
The annual Seaside 10 mile and 5K Halloween Bash is already set up in the inlet parkinglot and the organizers are raring to go. Even if it’s too late for you to get in shape and run the 5K, it will be good to know why all these other people are running around town.
Maybe plan to join next year, a nice brisk walk on the beach might be a good way to get inspired.
Bars and clubs all over town are having Halloween Parties this weekend, just pick one. We’ll be posting setup photos from the Nightmare on 28th Street, a Halloween Block Party hosted by Buxy’s Salty Dog Saloon, the Pit and Pub and Mother’s Cantina. Other bars and clubs Bars having parties include: Seacrets, Harpoon Hannas, and BJ’s On the Water. There are plenty more. Feel free to email us with your favorites.
