Ocean City, Maryland Entertainment
Reach the Beach All Star & College Internationals begins this Friday and carries through Sunday, April 1. This is a free event where spectators can watch dance and cheer talent. These dance and cheer teams will compete for the national championship title. If you’re not up to speed on dance and haven’t seen all the Bring It On movies, cheer and dance competitions can be fairly exciting. Attend the internationals and watch the talent in your area. Call 877-322-2310 or visit www.acdaspirit.com for additional information. The competition takes place at the OC Convention Center at 4001 Coastal Highway. The public can view the routines from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Horseback riding on the beach ends this Friday, March 30. If you haven’t had the chance to try this out, do so before the beach is too crowded with bikini and speedo-clad people! You do need a permit for this opportunity; purchase online at www.oceancitymd.gov. Permits are $20 for one day. Call 800-626-2326 for more info.
Not to be outbid by horses and cheerleaders, Seacrets also offers you fantastic music this week. First up, The Amish Outlaws (below right), on Friday. The band name alone should be quite enough to entice you, but more information on the band will excite too. If you can imagine it, these Outlaws play anything from Neil Diamond to Snoop Dogg. See this eccentric group at 10 p.m. Saturday, The Benderz, a five-part cover band, play at 10 p.m. Also on Saturday, check out High Five at 9 p.m. Interested but have questions? Go to www.seacrets.com for your questions.
Like Seacrets, Fager’s Island wants to give you the best music experience possible. They start this week off with The Chest Pains. Back from their respite, The Chest Pains pick up again with New Wave music. See them at 9:30 p.m. on stage. It wouldn’t be Friday night without a dj, so DJ Hook provides musical salvation at 9 p.m. on deck. Saturday, March 31, Chester River Runoff brings bluegrass tunes to the deck from 1 to 5 p.m. Indulge in more of Eastern Shore related groups with Salt Water String Band from 1 to 5 p.m. Jumper and DJ Groove get your Saturday night started right with Jumper at 10 p.m. inside and Groove at 9 p.m. on deck. Check with www.fagers.com for other news.
The Greene Turtle has plenty of music, food, drinks, and events to keep you entertained too! Monday, there’s Big Sexy Bingo planned from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, DJ Wax is there from 10 p.m. to 2 p.m. and there’s a steak and crab entree special that starts at 5 p.m. Saturday, DJ Wood is there. The Turtle offers food and drink specials every day, too, so check with your server before you order. All these events occur at the North Ocean City location. If you plan on going to the West Ocean City location, you can expect the same fun, just a few different events. Monday, there’s a $9.99 prime rib dinner, Wednesday offers $5 cheesesteaks all day and Red Cup Night at 8 p.m., Thursday, The Turtle has $5 burgers, Bombs & Beers, and Saturday and Sunday, they offer a pitcher special at noon.
