As Senior Week Comes to an End, Remember to Play it Safe

Play it Safe is a program dedicated to providing high school graduates with organized, alcohol-free, drug-free activities during Senior Week in Ocean City. Senior week, typically the first 3 weeks of June, is a time when thousands of recent high school grads travel to Ocean City to celebrate with their friends. The Play it Safe program will be starting their 22nd season of activities this year.

The Play it Safe program is coordinated by the Worcester County Health Department, the Ocean City Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Committee, the town of Ocean City, and many local businesses and organizations.

There are over 50 events planned this June. A new activity added this year? Free roller coaster rides at Trimper Rides on the boardwalk from 8 to 10 pm on June 5th and June 12th. Other activities include kayaking, windsurfing, paintball, basketball, tennis, pizza and pancake eating contests, rock climbing, karaoke, bowling, laser tag, volleyball, mini golf, water park slides and rides, and tie-dying t-shirts.

Are you a ‘senior weeker’ who wants to participate? Pick up a wristband and get started! Call the Worcester County Health Department at 410-632-1100 or visit for more information.
