The Art League of Ocean City is reserving spots now for the “Artists Paint OC” event, which will be held from August 11-14, 2016. Only 50 spots are available for artists, and they are filling up quickly.
The artists may check in and begin painting on the morning of Thursday, March 11. That evening, the Art League will hold an opening reception for the artists at the Ocean City Center for the Arts with a plein air discussion and a light Eastern Shore dinner.
On Friday and Saturday, August 12-13, artists will paint en plein air in scenic locations at the beach, on the boardwalk, at bayside and in the Ocean City and West Ocean City harbors from dawn to dusk.
The highlight of the event occurs at the Arts Center on Saturday evening, August 13, with formal judging of the plein air artwork, awarding of cash prizes and a wet paint sale open to the public.
The plein air event concludes on Sunday morning, August 14, with a quick draw competition in downtown Ocean City.
The registration fee is $35 for all events, or $15 for the quick draw competition only.
The Art League will award more than $2,300 in total cash prizes during the event. Additionally, art created during the plein air event will be featured during the remainder of the month of August at the Ocean City Center for the Arts.
Artists interested in participating may view the full prospectus and register online at www.artleagueofoceancity.org or by contacting the Art League of Ocean City at 410-524-9433 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
