Ocean City’s Famous Boardwalk

Ocean City’s Famous Boardwalk. I guess this is something that I take for granted, never realizing that everyone does not know where the Boardwalk is or even what it is like. The Boardwalk starts below 1st Street and stretches along the ocean up to 28th Street. The total length of the Boardwalk is around 3 miles and makes a great walk. Most of the activity and excitement is on the lower end of the Boardwalk. This end of the Boardwalk, near the Inlet Parking Lot, is home of Jolly Roger at the Pier and Trimpers Amusements, Marty’s Playland, Dumsers Dairyland, Thrashers French Fries, Fishers Popcorn and many other attractions. You will find rides, games, Haunted Houses and all of that great Boardwalk food you can eat! As you go up the Boardwalk the activity decreases. There is much activity until about 8th street and then it dies down some. There will still be shops and eateries, just not as many. There are many hotels, apartments and condos situated on the Boardwalk. Many visitors enjoy staying at a hotel or condo right on the Boardwalk with all the convenience of all the excitement just outside the door, while others enjoy the Boardwalk yet prefer to stay uptown or bayside. Whatever you like and whatever you do, you just cannot visit Ocean City without going to the Boardwalk. The Boardwalk has changed some over the years, there is now a concrete pad lining parts of the Boardwalk for the Tram and the shops may not still look the same, but one thing that never changes is the fun you will have once you get there!
