Ocean City This Week: Plenty to Keep You Busy!

If you are in Ocean City this week, you may notice a couple of changes as you drive down Coastal Highway. The speed limit, normally 40 mph through North Ocean City, has been reduced to 30 mph, and Downtown, the speed limit has also been reduced. This is due to the expected, unauthorized H2Oi Pop-Up Rally.  It is reasonable to expect heavier than usual traffic, noise and strict enforcement of vehicle laws during the week and weekend.

Sharpen you pencil and get ready to put these Ocean City events into your calendar this week. There is plenty to do as the week gets underway. The Maryland State Fireman’s Convention, Beachfest and Art’s Alive are all taking place in beautiful Ocean City Maryland this week!

Jump start the week by visiting some of Maryland’s finest members of the Fire and Rescue Service. The public is welcome to “meet the firemen” at the Ocean City Convention Center located on 41st Street and view the exhibits on Monday and Tuesday from 9am to 5pm and Wednesday from 9am until noon. Then, at 1pm on Wednesday, don’t miss the Fireman’s Parade which will be taking place from the inlet to 9th Street and Baltimore Avenue.

On June 19th a celebration of beach lifestyle, known as Beachfest, will be taking place throughout the town at the beach, Convention Center and the Ocean Bowl Skate Park. This event urges you to get active and “live an active lifestyle.” Events include a Paddleboard Race, Open Surfing Pro Am, 5 Mile Run as well as vendors, demos, music and more!

On Saturday and Sunday there is fun for the whole family at Arts Alive at Northside Park located on 127th Street Bayside. There will be over 150 artists displaying and competing with their fine art in all categories including ceramics, jewelry, printmaking, glass, sculpture and more! Hours are Saturday from 9am to 6pm and Sunday from 9am to 5pm.
