One of the most exciting aspects of the local craft beer boom is that it provides endless opportunities for beer drinkers to sample unique, inventive offerings from their favorite brewmasters. Evolution Craft Brewing Company, in Salisbury, is at the forefront of the local craft beer movement and is constantly pushing the envelope when it comes to brewing styles, techniques, and ingredients. Recently, Evo debuted three brand new brews, which are now available at Public House, the brewery’s tasting room, and select bars around the region.
The first is called ‘Lucky Pumpkin’, which combines the brewery’s mainline ‘Lucky #7’ porter with its fall seasonal ‘Jacques Au Lantern.’ Tasting room staff noticed a trend of customers combining the two unique beers in years past, so the decision was made to take and evolve that idea into a new Evo original. The result is a 6.0 ABV bourbon aged porter blended with pumpkin spice that is perfect for sipping on a fall evening. Don’t get tricked this Halloween season, treat yourself to a Lucky Pumpkin while supplies last.
Another new offering, called ‘Natural Selection: Genus 2,’ is the second beer in an ongoing collaborative series between Evolution and its friends across the Bay at Flying Dog Brewery in Frederick, MD. This particular member of the Natural Selection family is aged in Four Roses bourbon barrels, which add tones of vanilla, oak tannins, and bourbon heat to the beer. Genus 2 won’t last for long, so don’t miss your chance to taste how good beer can be when two of Maryland’s most accomplished breweries work to create one amazing brew.
In its ongoing quest to add a new mainline beer to its family, Evolution is now on the third installment of its experimental Incubator series. The new ‘Incubator #3’ is a traditional farmhouse saison that is gold in color and dry, yet refreshing to drink. It is unfiltered and brewed with several varieties of hops to add hints of citrus and spice. Stop by for a sample today and help decide if Incubator #3 will start popping up on taps and in bottles at your local beer store in the future.
These special release craft beers won’t be around forever, so don’t get left empty handed. Grab your growlers and friends and head to Public House or the adjacent tasting room to fill up on these exciting new beers before the limited number of kegs are kicked.
