This week in OC: March 20-26, 2015

With more winter weather back in our area it doesn’t feel like it yet, but happy spring! Now that winter is ‘officially’ over, it’s time to turn our attention to warm thoughts, such as the fact that Memorial Day is only 65 days away! If you can’t wait that long, however, and have made the wise decision to hang out in Ocean City, Md on the first weekend of spring, here are some of this week’s highlights to help plan your fun:

– This weekend is headlined by the annual Home, Condo, Outdoor Show/Art & Craft Festivalwhich takes over the Convention Center all weekend long. The 31st Annual Spring Home, Condo, and Outdoor Show will boats over 185 exhibitors, and feature both indoor and outdoor living ideas along with financial services, and so much more. The professionals will advise and inspire you, whether your are considering a big remodeling project or just some much needed accessorizing of your favorite space. With an Art and Craft Fair, free drawings and door prizes, you will be sure to pick up some fresh ideas and accessories for your home.

– This Saturday, March 21, is the annual Italian Festival at St. Andrews Hall on 144th St. Stop by 11am-6pm to enjoy ravioli and meatball platters, meatball and sausage subs, cannoli, minestrone soup, wine, soda, beer, Zeppoles (St. Joseph’s Day Cake) and more. Music will be provided by Baltimore’s Mario Monaldi Band, there will be entertaining games for both children and adults, as well as Religious items, Italian clothing and cookbooks for sale. Proceeds will benefit St. Luke’s Catholic Church and the Sons of Italy of Ocean City.

– On Tuesday, March 24, all WWII Veterans and their spouse or companion are invited on this bus trip to the WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C. Bus leaves American Legion, 23rd Street at 8 a.m. with second pick up at the Community Church at Ocean Pines, 11227 Racetrack Road at 8:15 a.m. The trip is sponsored by Vietnam Veterans of America and is free to all veterans, Chapter 1091.
