The weekend you’ve all been waiting for is finally here, and if you know anything about Ocean City, we don’t let a little rain ruin our parade. St. Paddy’s weekend in Ocean City is one of the most anticipated events of the entire year and bars and restaurants all over town will be offering up an assortment of Irish celebrations- rain or shine.
If you’re joining us in Ocean City this week, here are the highlights you have to look forward to:
– Ocean City’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade, hosted by the Delmarva Irish-American Club is the 2nd largest St. Paddy’s celebration in the state of Maryland. As always, the parade will begin on 60th St. before travelling south on Coastal Highway to the epicenter of Irish action- the 45th St. Village. From 1-3pm 45th St will be your home for live music, green beer, and thousands of Irish, and those pretending to be.
-To say that Shenanigan’s has been waiting all winter for this weekend would be an understatement. Ocean City’s favorite Boardwalk Irish bar is celebrating with not 1, but 5 days of St. Patrick’s celebrations. Don’t miss the action Friday night, and get there early on Saturday. Doors open at 8am with the annual Boardwalk 5K kicking off at 9, followed by a full day of Irish excitement.
-Paddy Bash at Shenanigan’s is far from the only establishment rolling out the green carpet this weekend. Seacrets, Harpoon Hanna’s, and Dunes Manor are just a few more of the many places serving up green beer, corned beer and cabbage, and authentic Irish tunes this weekend. – If the weatherman is wrong and Saturday isn’t an all day downpour, consider teeing off in the Irish Scramble Golf at Eagle’s Landing Golf Course. This four-player scramble is set for a shotgun start at 9:30am and costs $50 per person, which includes green fees, cart, and lunch. Prizes will also be awarded.
