With record low temperatures and record high snow fall consuming much of our region for the last few weeks, there is no time better than now to start thinking about your next trip to Ocean City, MD. For those of you brave enough to be at the beach this weekend, Ocean City has plenty to keep you occupied (and warm).
Here are this week’s highlights:
–BrewsUp is the Eastern Shore of Maryland’s only brew on premise/homebrewing shop, offering a wide varieties of beer and wine making supplies and advice. This Friday, February 20, BrewsUp will be hosting its ‘Cork for a Cause’ fundraiser to benefit The Cricket Center. Tickets to this one-of-a-kind event are just $35 and includes a wine tasting session, wine making demo, two specially labeled bottles of wine to take home, and a donation to the Cricket Center. The event is from 7-9pm and advance tickets are required. Call 443-513-4744 for more information or to reserve your spot.
– After a great turnout in its inaugural year, OC Fiber Fest is coming back to the Grand Hotel this weekend! Vendors who specialize in wool, fabric, wood, reed and other fibers will be on hand to raise awareness about and promote the natural fiber industry. The event lasts Friday-Sunday and will feature demos, seminars, make-and-takes, door prizes, and shopping opportunities. Tickets are $3 per day or $5 for a weekend pass and the hours are Friday 11am-6pm, Saturday 10am-6pm, and Sunday 10am-3pm.
– Spending time on the water is a way of life in Ocean City and this Tuesday, February 24, you can get one step closer to summer excitement on the bay or ocean by obtaining your boater’s license. America’s Boating Course originates from the Ocean Pines library from 7-9pm, with registration beginning at 6:30. Not only will tose who complete the course be licensed to operate a boat, but may also be eligible for a free 6 month membership to Ocean City Power Squadron A nominal fee will be charged for course materials.
