This weekend is the 20th Annual Delmarva Birding Weekend, bringing a flock of bird-related events to Ocean City. One of the most popular of these events is the annual Ward World Championship Carving Competition at the Convention Center. Hosted by the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art, this internationally acclaimed event brings the best bird carvers from around the world to Ocean City to test their skills and compete for their share of over $60,000 in prize money.
– Sharing Ocean City with Delmarva Birding Weekend is the annual Spring Restaurant Week. Restaurants across town are offering up special pre-fixe menus and seasonal dishes to entice hungry patrons into their dining rooms. Spring Restaurant Week participants are offering culinary creations ranging from casual bar fare to upscale cuisine and the event runs through May 3.
– Also this weekend is the first ever ‘Pork Fat Cask Festival’ at Evolution Craft Brewing Co. just up the road in Salisbury. Stop by from 1-5pm to enjoy upscale pig dishes and special cask beer from local breweries Burley Oak, 3rd Wave, Ocean City Brewing Co., Dogfish Head, Tall Tales, and Fordham.
– Finally, speaking of beer, don’t miss Monday’s 3rd installment in the ShoreCraftBeer.com Beer Talk & Tasting series. This time around Ocean City Brewing Co. will host representatives from 8 local breweries, who wiill be on hand to answer your questions while pouring samples for your tasting pleasure. Tickets cost just $5 and include sampling tickets
