As the mid-Atlantic thaws out from Thor, we prepare to celebrate turning the clocks forward this weekend and rejoice that spring is only 2 weeks away! We may be facing record low temperatures this weekend, but the thermometer should climb into the 50s next week, making it a perfect time for an early season trip to Ocean City. Should you find yourself ‘downee ocean‘ this week, OC has plenty to keep you entertained.
Here are this week’s highlights:
– The big attraction this weekend is the return of the Ocean City Hotel-Motel-Restaurant Association’s annual Trade Expo for the 41st year. Members of the hospitality industry will have a chance to sample new products, attend seminars, network with peers, and celebrate together as Ocean City gears up for St. Patrick’s Day weekend and beyond. This year, In addition to a wide array of vendors and local businesses vying for bragging rights over who has the best booth, two special quests will be in attendance. First Hotel Impossible’s Anthony Melchiorri will be returning to OC to discuss his experiences making over our own Lankford Hotel last year. Also, the Brewer’s Association of Maryland will be on hand to discuss the ever-growing brewery scene on the shore. Talks by BAM Executive Director Kevin Atticks and ShoreCraftBeer.com’s own Tony Russo will give insight into the craft beer world and how our area is primed to benefit from it. -Also this weekend, Cinderella takes center stage at the Ocean City Performance Arts Center in the Convention Center, in ballet form. Don’t miss this spectacular performance and the chance to meet and take photos with Cinderella and Prince Charming after she show. Tickets for the show cost just $10 and curtain time is 7pm.
