Good news, there’s only 122 days until Memorial Day! Massive amounts of snow may be on the way, but if you’re considering a beach trip this coming week, Ocean City, Md still has plenty to keep you entertained- and warm!
Here’s a look at this week’s highlights:
– If you like eating pit beef and oysters and drinking beer for a good cause- and let’s be honest, who doesn’t- head to Harpoon Hanna’s on Saturday January 24 for a special Bull and Oyster Roast from 2-5pm. The event will include beef, oysters, and coleslaw served buffet style as well as $2 Miller Lite/Coors Light Drafts and 50/50 raffle. Proceeds will go to benefit ‘Home of the Brave,’ a Berlin based organization dedicated to helping local veterans. Tickets are $20 in advance and $30 at the door, but the event is expected to sell out.
– Why wait until summer to enjoy Ocean City? The beach is beautiful any time of year, especially viewed from a romantic ride in a horse and carriage. Saturdays and Sundays through April 26, you can hop into a heated carriage and enjoy a relaxing ride down the boards and around the inlet. Rides cost $10 for adults, are free for children and are available 10am-4pm.
– Beer is good, local beer is better. Monday, January 26, is ShoreCraftBeer.com‘s second ‘Beer Talk & Tasting’ event. Beer Talk & Tasting 2 will be hosted at Assawoman Bay Brewing Co. on 45th in Ocean City, and give local breweries the chance to pour and discuss their beers for business owners, town officials, and members of the public. Each of the 8 participating breweries will feature a different style of beer to be sampled and a networking happy hour will give attendees the chance to speak directly to brewers about their beers.
