With Labor Day officially behind us, Ocean City, Maryland is heading into what is known as the ‘second season.’ The weather is still warm, the beaches are less crowded, and fall festival season is almost upon us, so make your plans now for one more beach trip before cooler temperatures set in.
If you’re joining us this week, here are the highlights:
– This Saturday, September 12, is the 7th Annual Brews at the Beach, hosted by Fin City Brewing Co. Taking place in the parking lot at Hooper’s Crab House, this annual beer festival celebrates the top local breweries from around the region. This year, not only do you get the chance to sample some of the most creative beers in our area, but you also get to help decide who makes the best IPA and overall beer around. The event lasts from 12-5pm and costs $25 in advance or $35 at the door. Visit fincitybrewing.com from more details or for ticket information.
– Also this weekend is the return of the Flounder Pounder Fishing Tournament. This one-day event originates from Bahia Marina (next to Fish Tales) and participants can either fish from their own boats or rent a skiff. Visit bahiamarina.com for full details.
– The annual fall festivals are part of what makes the ‘second season’ such an amazing time in Ocean City. First up is OC Bikefest, which kicks off Thursday, September 17. This year’s event will feature demos, displays, and other activities at the Inlet Parking Lot and Convention Center as well as live performances by national acts Great White and Kix. Check back next week for a complete overview of Bikefest’s weekend activities, or visit our Bike Week page.
