‘- Tonight, July 17, is the return of one of the most funky and unique events hosted in the area all summer. If you’ve never attended the Bathtub Races in America’s Coolest Small Town, then head to Berlin this evening to see businesses and people like you turn ordinary bathtubs into extraordinary works of art. This fun, yet competitive race takes place in downtown Berlin and is open to anyone who would like to participate. Winners receive a coveted trophy and year long bragging rights.

– This weekend, the annual Ocean Games return to Ocean City with 1, 3 and 9 mile swimming races along with two paddleboard heats for armatures and experts. The events originate from the beach at Caroline Street and last from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ocean Games is a WOWSA sanctioned open water swim and proceeds will benefit Johns Hopkins Outpatient Neuro Rehabilitation Program. – While you’re in Ocean City, make sure to maximize your vacation with free nightly events hosted by the town. This week, create your own sudae at Northside Park from 7-9pm with Sundaes in the Park; check out a spectacular laser lights show aling the Boardwalk with OC Beach Lights shows at 9:30, 10, 10:30p; enjoy beach fireworks on Monday and Tuesday on the beach at N. Division St; listen to the sweet sounds of Bluesman Tom Larsen at Wednesday’s Concert on the Beach on the Caroline Street Stage; and rock out with Sunset Park Party Nights on Thursday from 7-9pm. – Finally, don’t forget to mark your calendars for Jolly Roger Day on August 1. Tickets are one sale now for $25 ($30 at the door) and include unlimited Splash Mountain and golf from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., two roller coaster rides and amusement rides from 2-6 p.m. Tickets are available at the Townsend Medical Center on 10th Street, Ocean City; Atlantic General Primary Care and Women’s Health, Ocean Pines; and Atlantic General Hospital Cashier’s Office.
