Local Musician plays at Establishments like The Shark

If you are in Ocean City this week, you may notice a couple of changes as you drive down Coastal Highway. The speed limit, normally 40 mph through North Ocean City, has been reduced to 30 mph, and Downtown, the speed limit has also been reduced. This is due to the expected, unauthorized H2Oi Pop-Up Rally.  It is reasonable to expect heavier than usual traffic, noise and strict enforcement of vehicle laws during the week and weekend.

Phil Knight is a local musician who knows how to express himself. Knight, a folk rock singer songwriter out of Berlin, MD, is a self-taught guitarist who plays gigs all over the Ocean City area.

Looking to enjoy some mellow folk or soulful blues music? Check out Phil! At any of these local restaurants you’ll be sure to find Phil, guitar in hand, singing into a mic or muttering a few funny jokes to a crowd.

On Thursday’s, Knight plays at The Shark on the Harbor Restaurant in West Ocean City. The Shark is known for their fresh, local, and organic cuisine prepared by chef Travis Wright in the kitchen sitting above the OC Commercial Fishing Harbor. Drink sustainable wine, local beers, and relax while listening to Phil please the crowd acoustically.

On the 3rd Friday of every month, Knight plays at JC’s Northside Pub in Ocean City. Located on 127th Street in the North Bay Shopping Center, this cute little pub is a local hangout. Relax at the bar, eat some pub food, and watch Phil strum him guitar.

On Saturday’s, Knight plays at the Salt Air Kitchen in Rehoboth, DE. Salt Air uses local produce and fresh fish to create simple and innovative dishes. Dine on any of the continually evolving seasonal menu items or daily specials while listening to great live music.

On most Sunday’s, you can find Knight nestled upon a bar stool singing into a microphone at the Globe Theatre in Berlin. Head to the Globe around 10:00 a.m. and catch Phil for Sunday Brunch while enjoying Mimosas and fantastic breakfast food.

As a folk singer songwriter, he is inspired the things around him. When he’s not performing, Knight can be found working behind the counter at Quietstorm Surf Shop in Ocean City. He will probably be thinking about his newest lyrics. “I like to play original stuff,” says Knight, “My own music.”

If you’re looking to enjoy a meal while listening to a mellow local musician, you have to check out Phil Knight at our area establishments. “I’m also available for private functions,” Knight adds. Check out Phil Knight’s music at PhilKnightMusic.com or on iTunes.
