Break out your grass skirts, Hawaiian shirts, and flip flops! It’s soon time for the annual Maryland Coastal Bays Luau at Seacrets! Mark your calendars for Sunday, March 20th, 2011 and plan to have a great time.
The Maryland Coastal Bays Program and the Ocean City chapter of the Surfrider Foundation are planning a fundraiser to benefit their eco-friend organizations. The event is designed as a way to beat the winter blues and celebrate the beauty of the Ocean City area. The funds generated at the Luau will be used at the Earth Day Community Cleanup later this year.
This is the 2nd year that these green foundations are throwing a huge party together. The Life Aloha Luau is a family-friendly party that features live entertainment, hula and drum dancers, contests, and games. Local band, Time Police, will be performing live as Emcee Glenn Honu Mihalik hosts the event. Mihalik, an Ocean City transplant from Hawaii, will carry the party along and get everyone dancing.
A Hawaiian Auction will take place, too. Many local businesses have donated prizes, goods, and services that will be auctioned away at the event. Purchase tickets at the entrance and put your tickets in a Hawaiian box to try and win great prizes.
Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Children under the age of 12 are free. Advanced tickets can be purchased online at www.mdcoastalbays.org or at MCBP located in the Teal Marsh Shopping Center in West Ocean City.
The event takes place on Sunday, March 20th, 2011 at Seacrets, 49th Street and the Bay in Ocean City, MD. The party runs from 1 to 5 pm.
The MCBP and local Surfrider Foundation believe in respect for others and respect for the land. Help out at this event! For more information, call Sandi from the Maryland Coastal Bays Program, at 410-213-2297, extension #107. Hope to see you there! Aloha
