Traditionally, the weekend closest to St. Patrick’s Day is the unofficial start of the season in Ocean City. True, Memorial Day inaugurates the first day of summer, but between the parade and the sheer number of places that begin opening for the weekends, St. Pat’s gets the nod for season opener. Taking that fact into consideration, Shenanigan’s Irish Pub and Grill sets aside the weekend to make a huge deal not only over celebrating its opening and the holiday, but also of a favorite charity it wants to help promote.
This year, the entertainment will be provided by the ever-popular James Gallagher and Off the Boat as well as by the pipe and drum corps, who will be just getting warmed up for the kind of drumming and piping the weekend requires.
In addition to supporting a good cause and priming yourself for the holiday weekend, coming down a day early will be an excellent opportunity to get the lay of the land and ensure you have the best seats in the house for Saturday’s Parade. Shenanigan’s Irish Pub and Grille will have food and drink specials all weekend long, but there will be really exciting discounts and additional diversions more than justifying Thursday’s $10 price of admission.
