The Berlin Fire Company has been working with Ocean City communities to help a local 9-month-old child who is suffering from heart complications that will lead to open-heart surgery in the future.
On Saturday, July 16th, a “Heart to Heart” dinner fundraiser will take place at the Berlin Firehouse on North Main Street in Berlin, MD. Keira Budd is the daughter of Eric and Ashley Budd. Eric is a full-time firefighter and paramedic for the Ocean Pines Fire Department and a 3rd Assistant Chief at the Berlin Fire Company.
The Saturday dinner will start at 4 pm and continue until 7 pm. Tickets are $10 (for a dinner without shrimp) or $15 (for dinner with shrimp). Children age 3 or younger may eat for free. A deejay will be present and both silent and live auction will take place throughout the night. To purchase tickets, please call 410-641-1977.
Keira Budd was born on September 15th of this year with a ventricular septal defect. She has a hole in the wall that separates the ventricles of her heart. She has developed a narrow pulmonary artery and an enlarged right ventricle in her heart because of the defect.
Let’s get the Ocean City communities together and support this family and our local firefighters. Come cheer on Keira’s fight, support her parents, and have a great time for a good cause!
