Green Drinks meets at the Shark 8/11 from 5 – 7

If you are in Ocean City this week, you may notice a couple of changes as you drive down Coastal Highway. The speed limit, normally 40 mph through North Ocean City, has been reduced to 30 mph, and Downtown, the speed limit has also been reduced. This is due to the expected, unauthorized H2Oi Pop-Up Rally.  It is reasonable to expect heavier than usual traffic, noise and strict enforcement of vehicle laws during the week and weekend.

Can a night out benefit our planet? The staff at The Shark on the Harbor restaurant thinks so. As an initiative to help save our planet, the Shark will be hosting a Green Drinks night this Wednesday, August 11th.

Green Drinks is a global force for environmental good. With 636 different cities participating, the Green Drink program is celebrated worldwide and closer to home. Maryland cities like Annapolis, Frederick, Baltimore, and now Ocean City are taking part in helping our planet while having some fun in a relaxing setting.

The Shark on the Harbor features several organic and sustainable wines, beers, and liquors. You can be eco-friendly while sipping on a glass of the house wine and relaxing in the ambiance of The Shark. All house wines are organic, and other wine selections are sustainable and environmentally friendly.

During the summer, The Shark has daily drink specials made and garnished with locally grown fruits. Some Shark favorites are organic watermelon liquor drinks, and fresh squeezed organic lemon with citrus vodka. Chill out after a long day at the beach with Fair Trade organic chilled coffee.

No matter what the reason, visit The Shark on the Harbor restaurant on Wednesday, August 11th, from 5 to 7 p.m. to enjoy the Green Drinks program. Founding organizations, OceanCity.com, the Park Place Hotel, Ayres Creek Adventures, and The Shark on the Harbor, would love if you could come out to support green living!

Depending on our great local business owners, educators, and eco-enthusiasts, we can make our community greener and our water cleaner! With the Green Drinks program, hopefully Ocean City will be known as a model to other communities in the Delmarva area.
