The Susan G. Komen for the Cure race is coming to Ocean City next year, and this initial meeting to find out how you or your business can become involved is invited.
At Higgin’s Crab House on 31st Street Oceanside from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26 meet and greet friends and neighbors and eat shrimp and crabs while trying to determine just how involved in the fight against breast cancer you want to become.
It’s also an informational session to find out what Komen Maryland does on the Eastern Shore and how to make the inaugural Ocean City event next year a huge success for everyone.
If you’re down Salisbury way on Thursday, consider becoming a volunteer for the Komen Foundation. They will be providing information and accepting applications at the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore offices at 1324 Belmont Avenue in the Bury. It’s just off westbound Route 50. RRepresentatives will be available from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
In the October spirit of Breast Cancer Awareness, these are a couple of good solid options to help raise awareness and help advance a cure for a terrible disease.
