Free in Ocean City: Events, Things to Do, Activities & More

Ocean City makes for the perfect vacation destination. The endless array of things to do in our beach town makes visitors come back for more. We know that any vacation can be a little tough on your wallet. Looking for budget-friendly possibilities? Have no worries, we’ve outlined them all for you!  We’ve got free activities for the whole family to enjoy all summer long. Here are a few priceless activities, places to see, and things to do in Ocean City for the summer of 2011.

The Boardwalk
Ocean City’s boardwalk runs a little over 2 miles and stretches from the inlet to 27th Street along the ocean. There are a variety of shops, amusements, and dining options lining the boardwalk to keep you satisfied. There is no fee to hang out on the boardwalk, making it a tradition for generations of visitors past and present.

Sunsets in Ocean City are breathtaking. You don’t want to miss them. Head to Northside Park up north or Sunset Park in south Ocean City for a non-obstructed view of the setting sun. The sun sets bayside, so we recommend you head west and to watch one of the best free shows in town.

The Beach
Members of the Ocean City Beach Patrol are on duty every day from 10 am to 5:30 pm starting the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend through the Sunday of Sunfest Weekend.  The white-sand beaches of OC are one of our biggest draws! There is no fee to hang out on the beach in Ocean City, MD. Set up your umbrella and beach chair along our 17-mile coast this summer!

Springfest & Sunfest
Admission to both of these events is free. Celebrate spring and the beginning of summer with a 4-day-long festival that includes free live entertainment, arts, and crafts at Springfest.
