Large Ships Offshore

Looking north up the OC coastline you can see 2-3 large ships anchored. It appears they're anchored in line with some offshore structures that I can't make out through the ocean haze. I'm guessing these ships are further north than I realize but they do appear large and doing some kind of heavy work. Anybody know what/where they are?

They're always there. There were several there when we were in OC a couple weeks ago. Not sure what they are doing.

Did some research (using marinetraffic.com -- an interesting site) and believe these to be large LPG tankers simply anchored offshore. From that my guess is they are in some holding pattern to get into various east coast ports/refineries. Not a definitive answer but I'm going to go with it for now.

They are tankers waiting to get up the Delaware River. A lot of them move. You just got to watch them over a few weeks!
