View Full Version : Books: Ocean City Fiction

Every spring I start hoarding books to take to the beach. I usually get Ocean City books on its history or fiction books where the story takes place somewhere on/at the ocean (any ocean will do).

About 3 years ago I decided to switch it up and bought “Cruel Death”
to read at the beach. That was a mistake. I had nightmares for weeks. I love horror movies and nothing in them fazes me, but there was just something about reading this true story then riding passed the actual building where this took place….

Last year I got my first Ocean City fiction
( http://www.amazon.com/Captain-Drowns-Ocean-City-Mystery/dp/0961658401/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1375983872&sr=8-4&keywords=the+captain+drowns%3A+a ).
I have to say that this was not the best book I’ve ever read. It was entertaining in that there was mention of places and business that have longs since closed (it was written in the ‘80’s). But the storyline really left a lot to be desired.

Has anyone found an Ocean City fiction that they liked? There seem to be a few around, but are any worth the read?

Did I even put this thread in the right category? Sorry if I didn't.

There's a mystery novel simply called "Ocean City M.D." that's a pretty good read.
