It’s Christmas in July again at The Jolly Roger at 30th Street! The 1st State Detachment Marine Corps League asks that you join us in supporting the Toys4Tots program… the campaign that collects toys and cash donations for needy children throughout America. Since 1947, Marines have fulfilled the dreams of millions of less fortunate children each Christmas. They do this by providing Christmas toys. A shiny new toy sends a message to a needy child that someone cares; that he or she hasn’t been forgotten; that the magic of Christmas hasn’t passed him or her by. Jolly Roger Parks started this terrific Christmas in July event in 2017 and we look forward to an even bigger and better event this year.
Again this year, festivities will begin at 9:30 at the 30 th St Entrance with an ROTC Color Guard and remarks by Mayor Rick Meehan and the first batch of toys will be delivered by Jolly Roger elves! Last year’s local campaign distributed 7,710 toys to 3,789 children here on Delmarva’s Easter Shore. You can help the Marines get a head start on this year’s campaign by participating in this unique Jolly Roger Christmas in July program. On Wednesday, July 25th bring a new, unwrapped toy or a minimum $10 cash donation to the Jolly Roger Park and receive a 20% discount on admission for each toy or cash donation you provide anytime between 10AM and 3PM. Just look for the Toys For Tots banner at all three entrances to drop off your donations and receive your discount voucher and receive a free gift. And new this year, Jolly Roger Park will provide a colorful Christmas backdrop for complimentary photos!
