DECATUR STUDENTS CONTRIBUTE TO ‘GLOBAL GEAR DRIVE’


On Tuesday, Stephen Decatur High School’s Connections Club presented 390.21 pounds of donated sporting equipment, clothing and shoes to Al “Hondo” Handy, second from far left, local representative of the Global Gear Drive. Global Gear Drive collects and distributes used sports gear to those in need. Past donations have gone to third-world countries and even to areas devastated by Hurricane Katrina.
