Come get your 50 cent wings smothered in Colossal Fossil Sauce at Pickles Pub in Ocean City this Wednesday! Who could say no to this deal??
Colossal Fossil Sauce may not be something that you physically smother on your wings, but it does provide a rad beat to eat to. Colossal Fossil Sauce is actually a band. A band that originated in Ocean City several years ago. When you head to Pickles Pub on 8th Street between 8 p.m. and midnight, don’t expect a lavish, large, and glitzy band.
The duo behind Colossal Fossil Sauce, Ry-Mac and B-Rad, started jamming together in our coastal community and hit the local bar and pub scene rather hard. You can find Ryan, also known as Ry-Mac, beating the bongos while Brad, B-Rad, strums his guitar. The two sing mellow lyrics to well-known songs while their faithful audience of family, friends, and fans hang out.
The bongos, originating from Spain and Cuba, consist of a hembra and a macho. These Spanish percussion instruments have served the Colossal duo well. Ryan and Brad live in Rincon, Puerto Rico during Ocean City’s off-season and spread good vibes in the Caribbean. Ocean City locals who migrate to Puerto Rico for the cold winter months head to Rincon bars like The Rum Shack and The Rock Bottom Bar to see the Ocean City locals play in a warmer atmosphere revolving around the surf. The sound of the bongos mixed with a well-tuned guitar will make your ears smile.
You can find the Sauce playing at Pickles Pub on Wednesdays when they have 50 cent wings, $2 Natty’s, $5 ‘bombs, and other stellar specials. Colossal Fossil Sauce plays with bands like Lower Class Citizens, the Electric Company, and the Bryan Russo Trio.
Looking to lounge pool-side and feel the good vibrations of Brad’s guitar? The Hilton Pool Bar will meet all of your needs. Colossal Fossil Sauce broadcasts live and in person right above the beach from noon to 4 p.m. on Fridays. The Hilton Pool Bar is located on 32nd Street and Oceanside in Ocean City.
Head to Pickles or the Pool Bar to see this incredibly studly duo play Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bob Marley, Train, and Ben Harper covers. You will not be disappointed. If you’re feeling daring, ask Ryan and Brad how they named their band and be prepared for a plethora of surf-related stories.
