Put on your favorite kilt and join us for the 21st Annual Chesapeake Celtic Festival near Snow Hill! Several clans and societies will be mingling throughout the crowd while representatives form all Celtic Nations show their love for their heritage. Are you from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Isle of Man, Cornwall, Brittany, Austurias, or Galicia? If you are, or even if you aren’t, eat drink, and be merry at the Chesapeake Celtic Festival! The festival will take place on October 2nd and October 3rd outside of Snow Hill, MD and is only a 30 minute drive from Ocean City.
Several musicians will be performing live on stage during the Celtic Fest. Celtic music favorites, Seamus O’Reilly, IONA, and Moch Pryderi are just some of the performers. Check out the Irish Dancers from Footsteps as they perform traditional Irish dance on stage, too. Of course, the festival would not be complete with out the loud sound of bagpipes! The Ocean City Pipe and Drum Band will be performing at the festival.
Grab yourself a Guinness and watch any of the events taking place during this fun-filled weekend. Sheepherding, wine tasting, scotch whisky tasting, and Medieval European Martial Arts are just a few of the activities you can take part in.
A food court area will be set up and offering purvey ethnic foods. Several specialty vendors and Eastern Shore dining favorites will have stands in the food court for you to enjoy. Picnic tables will be available for dining under the trees at the Furnace Town Living Heritage Museum. You may also dine in the Wren and Titmouse Tea Room or the Pub Tent also.
Tickets for the event are a reasonable $15/day for adults, and $5/day for children. Free parking is available at Furnace Town and in nearby Snow Hill. A shuttle service will be running to transport festival-goers from the parking area to the event and vice versa. A separate parking area will be dedicated to those who prefer to ride their motorcycles. The Celtic Festival is located at the Furnace Town Living Heritage Museum, on Old Furnace Road west from Route 12 and only 5 miles north of historic Snow Hill, MD. Snow Hill is approximately a 30 minute drive from Ocean City, MD. Gates open at 11:00 a.m.
The festival is sponsored by local Ocean City businesses like: Shenanigan’s Irish Pub, Whisker’s Bar & Grill, Footsteps Irish Dance Academy, Eastern Shore Physical Therapy, A Step Above Gallery and Gifts, Atlantic General Hospital, De Palma Dental, and others.
