(Feb. 15, 2013) Approximately two-dozen crafters are expected to present their wares this weekend at the Gold Coast Mall on 115th Street as part of the second annual Presidents Day Weekend Craft Show.
The event was created last year to “bring the Gold Coast Mall back to life,” said Debbie Byrd, craft show coordinator. “And we enjoy it ourselves when we do craft shows.”
Ten vendors participated in the inaugural event at the mall.
“For a first-time event, we thought it was a good turnout,” Byrd said.
This year, there will be an assortment of handmade items featured, including candles, jewelry, hair accessories, gifts and crocheted scarves.
Byrd will display her wares, as well. She creates table lamps out of wine and whiskey bottles. Byrd also makes teddy bears.
Craft show hours are today and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is open to the public and free to attend. For more information, call the mall at 410-524-9000.
