This is how I spend a perfect day in Ocean City with whichever grandchildren are up for some fun. After watching the sunrise from the beach I head to the Sahara Cafe for the Best Cream Chipped Beef served over Hash Browns. Then it’s back to the boards for a bike ride stopping along the way for Fresh Squeezed Lemonade. Next it’s time for a walk to the inlet to watch the boats heading out for a day of offshore fishing. Heading back north we MUST have a bucket of Thrashers Famous French Fries (with vinegar), then it’s time for Trimpers rides. I watch my grandchildren enjoy the same rides my children did and I did when I was their age. Now to put the icing on the cake; Three dozen steamed crabs from Crabs-To-Go, Hot Steamed Corn on the Cob and Fried Oyster sandwiches. It doesn’t get any better than this.
If you are in Ocean City this week, you may notice a couple of changes as you drive down Coastal Highway. The speed limit, normally 40 mph through North Ocean City, has been reduced to 30 mph, and Downtown, the speed limit has also been reduced. This is due to the expected, unauthorized H2Oi Pop-Up Rally. It is reasonable to expect heavier than usual traffic, noise and strict enforcement of vehicle laws during the week and weekend.
