Most people associate Labor Day with the end of summer, but for me it signals the start of summer’s best two weeks. September brings us beautiful sunny days with clear blue skies and warm ocean waters. It is the perfect time of year to get out and enjoy the magnificent natural resources Ocean City has to offer. The geese and ducks have begun their migration and the abundance of wildlife seems to increase as the traditional vacation season winds down. September also marks the height of the monarch butterfly migration in our area. The monarchs are especially prolific along the beaches of Assateague this time of year. So get out and enjoy this special time of year – take a walk along the beach or come on over to Ayers Creek for a paddle. The crisp mornings and cooler evenings are the perfect time to enjoy all that nature has to offer.
