The 16th Annual Berlin Spring Celebration hits Main Street on Saturday, April 23rd, 2011. April 23rd is the day before Easter Sunday and a day of Spring celebration in this beach town.
The fun-filled family event is going to be busy, just like every year prior, with lots of great activities planned for children and their families. The Spring Celebration brings thousands of locals and visitors together to enjoy the beginning of a new season. The event is appropriate for kids of all ages.
The day starts at 8:30 am with the arrival of the Easter Bunny and a pancake breakfast, followed by a craft workshop sponsored by the Worcester County Art Council, then an Eggstravaganza Hunt on the lawn of the Taylor House Museum. The Easter Bonnet Parade begins at 1 pm and anyone can join the parade fun. You can make your own bonnet at home for a chance to win a prize for the cutest, creative, or funniest bonnet.
National recording artist, Ray Owen, will be performing classic American songs with a humor suitable for the entire crowd live. Be sure not to miss Owen’s musical interpretation of “The Easter Parade”. Live entertainment is scheduled throughout the day. A variety of art and craft vendors, food stands, ponies, and amusement rides will be set up downtown.
Keep your eyes open for Berlin’s Mayor, Gee Williams, wearing a giant top hat and handing out shiny new quarters to all of the children.
