Berlin’s Little League All-Stars have won 3 straight Maryland State Championships. Over the last few weeks, they breezed through the District and State tournaments and are on a quest for a dream season they hope will end in Williamsport, PA with an appearance in the Little League World Series, an annual summer event televised on ESPN.
As you’re reading this, the 11 and 12 year old all-stars are in Connecticut preparing for this weekend’s Regional Championships, where they will compete against the best Little League teams from the Mid-Atlantic and New England, and they are in need of help from their local community. Uniforms, equipment, registration fees, and travel expenses are not cheap and team affiliate Bill Wheatly says the team is still trying to figure out how to cover costs and keep their dream of Little League supremacy alive.
Go Berlin Go is a fundraising campaign organized by the Little League in hopes of generating enough money to allow these talented players to keep chasing their dream. Donations large and small are equally appreciated and are being accepted through a PayPal link on BerlinLittleLeague.org or by mailing a check to Berlin Little League, PO Box 514, Berlin, Md 21811.
Let’s rally as a community and help these youngsters achieve their goal. If we do, perhaps we will get the chance to see them playing on national TV against the best teams from all over the US and the world!
