The Town of Ocean City’s Emergency Service Department is monitoring the current path of Hurricane Joaquin. While we expect that the Ocean City community will experience some effects of the storm (wind, rain and possible flooding), it is too early to project exactly what impact we will see. As we continue to watch and prepare for the storm, our citizens can also be prepared by taking the following steps:
1: Be Informed. Sign up for Town of Ocean City Wide Emergency Alerts by visiting: http://oceancitymd.gov/enews and subscribing to “City Wide Emergency Alerts.” Also, the Town of Ocean City will be posting information on social media channels, emergency radio and the website:

2. Know Your Zone & Division: Your zone and division is determined by two variables: Property location and vulnerability to flood inundation. If storm surge or flooding become a risk to our low lying areas, we will use Zones & Divisions to communicate with residents & property owners. Throughout the storm, the Town of Ocean City’s Emergency Services personnel will be working closely with local and state representatives to provide citizens with timely, accurate and essential information. The Town of Ocean City encourages residents and business owners to begin to prepare for any impact the storm may have on Ocean City.
