Santa might be ho-ho-ho’ing his way back to the North Pole, but the fun and excitement of the holidays isn’t over yet. We’ve only got four days left of 2015, and for anyone looking for the perfect spot to ring in the new year, they need look no further than our very own Ocean City. The beach has always been a popular destination for New Year’s Eve celebrations, and the transition to 2016 is sure to be no different. Many establishments along Philadelphia Ave will be packed to the brim with patrons eager to party, so make plans now before you’re left out in the cold… (or the warmth, if this weather keeps it up).
-Among the many clubs and bars joining the NYE celebrations is Seacrets, who are hosting a New Year’s Eve bash all night long, with a champagne toast when the clock hits midnight. Grab a spot at the Tiki Bar or dance the year away in the Morley Hall Nite Club. Either way, there’ll be plenty of entertainment!
-If country is more your style, there are still tickets available for the NYE Bash with Sam Grow at the Cowboy Coast Country Saloon. With a complimentary champagne toast at midnight and free mechanical bull rides, it’s not a show any country guy or gal will want to miss.
-For something more family friendly, Northside Park will be the perfect spot to watch some New Year’s fireworks! Enjoy a cup of hot chocolate at the Winterfest of Lights’ extended hours and then sit back and bring in 2016 with the beautiful yearly display.
Is staying up late not your thing?
-From 1pm to 3pm on Friday, January 1st, you can join the Ocean City mayor and city council at their 20th annual open house event! Located in the Performing Arts Center in the Roland E. Powell Convention Center, you will have the opportunity to view exhibits from many of Ocean City’s departments, agencies, and organizations (including but not limited to, police, fire, and emergency services – so come say hello to our uniformed heroes!).
-Wash off the stress of 2015 by diving into icy waters at the 22nd Annual Penguin Swim! The swim will occur at 1pm on New Year’s Day, but make sure to pre-register for the event. All proceeds benefit Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin!
