Celebrate the 4th of July in Ocean City!
The Perfect Fourth of July in Ocean City, Maryland
I’m new at the whole Fourth-of-July-in-Ocean-City thing. My parents might have taken me here for the holidays as a child, but that was so long ago that I don’t remember much, because they ultimately gave up braving the bumper-to-bumper traffic and crowded boardwalk to stay home and watch the fireworks in Annapolis.
The Fourth of July is all about American traditions like freedom, family, friends, and fireworks. As an American, you have the freedom to assemble your family and friends in Ocean City, Maryland for July 4th fireworks, and as well as an abundance of other activities to make your holiday vacation memorable.
July 4th and Ocean City are synonymous with each other, so every year the town goes above and beyond to give guests an extraordinary experience by hosting not one, but two Fourth of July celebrations. If you’re downtown, the action all takes place on the beach at North Division St. and if you’re uptown, Northside Park is where you want to be. Both events feature free concerts beginning at 8 p.m. followed by spectacular fireworks displays. Both town celebrations are free to attend, but remember to bring a chair or blanket and get there early to grab a great spot.
If you find yourself in midtown Ocean City on July 4th, fret not because Seacrets hosts an Independence Day party of its own. Located on 49th St. and the bay, Seacrets has a vibrant bay area that’s an all-day party, live music across multiple stages, and a fireworks display that is equally as impressive as the town’s.
7 Steps for a Perfect Ocean City Fourth of July – OceanCity.com
Independence Day is kind of like the New Year’s Eve of summer. It rings in the high season, letting us know summer truly is underway. It helps us focus all our energy, nationally, toward one great big celebration, it invites us to take stock in ourselves and our place and (let’s be honest) also to take the opportunity to overindulge a bit in food, beer, sweets and time in the sun.
Whether you choose to commemorate our nation’s birthday by lounging in the sun, splashing in the surf, boating on the bay, cooking out, eating crabs, shopping on the boardwalk, or bar hopping, Ocean City offers all the attractions and amenities you need for a star spangled celebration that will make our Founding Fathers proud. Whether you spend every July 4 in Ocean City or are coming for the first time, there a few better ways to celebrate Independence Day than with the sand between your toes.
