It’s Cruisin Weekend in Ocean City and that means cool cars on all the streets. There will be scheduled and impromptu parades as well as tons of events in the local bars and restaurants geared toward the Cruisers. The thing is, the weather forecasters are saying some pretty hateful things about the weekend, throwing around the “P” word a lot. Well, you don’t have to worry about Precipitation if you know where to hole up. There are plenty of rainproof places uptown and downtown where you can settle in and watch the cars and people along the Coastal Highway while remaining as dry as you like (if it even does happen to rain).
3. 28th Street Pit ‘n’ Pub
There isn’t a ton of outside seating at the Pit ‘n’ Pub, but they have massive windows out onto Coastal Highway where you can watch the show from the relative warmth and comfort of a 4-top as they serve up all the beverages you responsibly can consume. If you wanna put a little something on your stomach, I’ve gotta recommend the Smoked Brisket Tacos.
2. The 45th Street Taphouse
Located next to Assawoman Bay Brewing Co., the Taphouse is both the scene of a rally and situated in such a way that there are plenty of opportunities to kick back with a mixed drink or a craft beer and watch the highway goings on. In the snack department, you can’t go wrong with the Taphouse Pretzels which feature dips made from the beer brewed across the parking lot.
1. Pickles Pub
The thing I like the most about Pickles is that you can be outside but not in the weather, or you can be inside completely. The Downtown scene is always a little heightened at Pickles, so it’s usually pretty busy in fair weather. If things go south though, while others are looking for cover you can just throw on a jacket and chill with your feet up as the entire show unfolds just on the other side of the sidewalk.
