The 8th annual Surfrider Weekend will take place from June 6 through the 8th, 2008. The Longboard team challenge will take place Friday evening. The location will be Castle In The Sand, 37th St. & Ocean , OCEAN CITY, MD.

Surfrider Weekend is sponsored by the Ocean City chapter of Keepers of the Coast, an Eastern Shore conservation group. The group celebrates surfing while emphasizing the need to treat the beach and the coastline with respect, including beach cleanup activities and scholarship contests for conservation-minded youth.

Annually, the Surfriders organize a major longboard surfing competition and general get-together for surfers and fans, known as Surfrider weekend. The weekend also includes musical performances.

Friday evening

Legends Party at The Castaways (63rd St). Friday, 7:00pm - Until ?? No cover. Food spread, drink specials, membership & sales, movie screen and music by DJ

Saturday

7:30am: Registration begins
8:30am: Final registration and practice time
9:00am: Longboard Challenge
6:30pm: Contest Party, featuring The Diamondheads surf band (no cover)
