Newark MD, 21841

Description

Located halfway between Snow Hill and Berlin, the Queponco Railroad Station was once a stop on the historic Pennsylvania Railroad. Built in 1872, the station saw use until the 1960s, when demand for train service dwindled until the railroad eventually closed the station. In 1991, the Queponco Railway Station, Inc, was formed to restore the old station and turn it into a museum, introducing visitors to the history of the railroad, and the village of Newark itself.
