The Howard Johnson Oceanfront Plaza is located on the Ocean City Boardwalk and member of the Boardwalk Association Group. The hotel was built in 1987 on the site of the Mayflower Hotel.

The Howard Johnson Oceanfront Plaza offers several different style rooms. Oceanfront rooms directly overlook the Atlantic Ocean and Boardwalk. They include standard amenities, such as a microwave refrigerator and coffee maker and are available with two double beds or one king bed with sleep sofa. Oceanview rooms have a side view of Atlantic Ocean and the Ocean City Boardwalk. Standard rooms have no view but include standard amenities.

All guests of the Howard Johnson Oceanfront Plaza have access to the indoor and outdoor heated pools, jacuzzi and boardwalk. The hotel provides an on-site gift shop, on-site beach chair & umbrella rentals and onsite bike & surrey rentals.

The Howard Johnson Oceanfront Plaza provides year-round packages. During the summer, the Stay, Splash, and Save package and Sun 'n Fun Package are their main promotions. The Stay, Splash and Save package (May 31 through September 1) includes four all-day passes to Splash Mountain Waterpark, four rounds of Treasure Hunt Miniature Golf starting at $163 per night. The Sun 'n Fun Package (May 31 - September 1) includes 1 admission to Ripley's Believe It Or Not! per person and 1 admission to Discovery Cruises boat cruiser per person starting at $109.
