The Hobbit restaurant is named for the "Lord of the Rings"-themed decor that adorned the original Hobbit restaurant which opened in 1977. Following a temporary hiatus (Fall 2006 to Spring 2008) it has reopened with the same name, but in a brand new building, with a whole new look and a classier menu. Sleek, stylish, and sure to please it offers great food at a reasonable price with an atmosphere that can't be beat.
The restaurant has amazing sunset views and a wide-ranging menu. Their specialties range from local fresh caught fish, to popular veal and meat dishes, and of course Maryland crab cakes. In addition to the dining room, The Hobbit has a bar and lounge area where you can enjoy ordering from the full menu. Entrees ranged from $12 to $30 and all entrees and side dishes are served al la carte. Because of the restaurant's excellent fine-dining experience and beautiful sunset views, making a reservation is definitely suggested. The Hobbit serves dinner only and opens daily at 5:00 pm in season. Please call in the off season for hours.
