Creating Links

The process of creating links within wikis is very well explained on Wikipedia's own editing page. To make basic internal and externals links, follow the rules explained below
Internal Links
To create a link to another page within the Ocean City Wiki, simply insert the name of the page you want it to link to. Here's an example of what the formatting would look like in the editing phase:
[[Boardwalk]]
Which will appear to the user as Boardwalk
Note: make sure that wording, and even capital and lower case letters remain consistant to the actual page name, or else it will simply create a new page with the exact name you enter
External Links
Many of the pages of the Ocean City Wiki have a separate external links section in order to guide users to reviews of sites and restaurants, homepages, and additional information about a given topic or location. The creation of a separate section with a bold heading will keep with the format established by the wiki creators. To create the link itself, you insert the full web address into an open bracket, followed by a dash (/) and a space, and then type your own description or title for the link after it. Then close the bracket. Here's an example of what the formatting would look like in the editing phase:
[http://www.oceancity.com/weather/hw3.php/ Ocean City's Weather]
Which will appear to the user as Ocean City's Weather
