What To Do In Ocean City This Week 12/21 – 12/27/12

What To Do In Ocean City This Week 12/21 – 12/27/12

With winter about to set in, Ocean City’s beach, boardwalk and hotels may not be filled to capacity but there are still plenty of things to do in Ocean City, MD. If you need a little help jump-starting your weekend fun, you’re in luck. Here are a few of my top picks for restaurants, shopping, nightlife, and other events happening in Ocean City this week and weekend.

The biggest name in Ocean City for shopping, and deservedly so, is Tanger Outlets located in West Ocean City.. With almost 40 stores and tons of brand names to choose from, you are sure to find a great gift this holiday season at a great price. If you are looking for a more individual and personal shopping experience, there are plenty of merchants up and down Coastal Highway ready and willing to help you find just the right gift to make this season memorable. One of my favorite shops in Ocean City is the Quiet Storm Surf Shop. The uptown location at 75th Street and Coastal Hwy. is open year round. Right now you can take advantage of deep holiday discounts and grab a little piece of summer for Christmas.

After you finish all your shopping, you are sure to be hungry. Ocean City restaurants are almost as famous as Ocean City’s white sand beaches and there are still plenty open in the off season. One of the best: Blue Fish Restaurant and Sushi Bar. Blue Fish is located at 9401 Coastal Highway and they specialize in fresh sushi and other Asian cuisines. Relax and take in the contemporary atmosphere and enjoy a Sapporo as you watch each menu item being carefully crafted by skilled chefs. One trip to Blue Fish will definitely put it on your list of things to do in Ocean City.

There is no shortage of Ocean City nightlife even in the off season. What you may not know is that some of the best restaurants in Ocean City turn out to be some of the best nightspots in Ocean City. Dead Freddies Island Grill is well known for their great food. However, if you stay after dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, Dead Freddies comes alive as the icon DJ Wax spins all your favorite party and dance songs from 9pm-1am. Enjoy the full bar, great staff and island atmosphere as you dance and enjoy sporting events on the big screens. If you haven’t been to Dead Freddies for the fun after the food you’re missing out.

One final thing I want to highlight as a must do is Fager’s Island Sunday Brunch. Fager’s Island is one of the most celebrated restaurants in Ocean City, and lives up to its reputation for fine dining, entertainment, and great atmosphere. The Sunday Brunch at Fager’s combines all of these elements into one memorable Ocean City event. Unbelieveable food, great bloody marys, and magical views of the bay all add up to a perfect way to wrap up your weekend.

This is a quick list of things to get you going. As a reminder the Winterfest of Lights in Northside Park is running daily from now until January 1, 2013, if you haven’t visited yet that is also a “must do.” A more comprehensive list of events and live music from Ocean City Today is available below.
