Things To Do In Ocean City Week of February 1st
It’s Super Bowl weekend and THANKFULLY the beautiful state of Maryland still has a horse in the race. We’ve sent our favorite sons, the Baltimore Ravens, to compete in what is sure to be a historic and epic matchup versus the San Francisco 49ers. However, when it comes to the average person, getting Super Bowl tickets is probably more difficult than picking the winning numbers in the Mega Millions. Fortunately Ocean City has you covered. Ocean City, Maryland is home to multiple Raven’s Roosts and that means there will be no shortage of places that you can go to cheer on Maryland’s finest this coming Sunday. Football not your thing? Don’t worry. There are still plenty of things to do in Ocean City this weekend to pass the time and to keep you from getting cabin fever.
Super Bowl Ocean City Events
The Blue Ox -Raven’s Roost #44- is the home of the Raven’s Wrap radio show and also the home of some seriously good food. The Blue Ox has been recently renovated and features a menu with 25 items under $10. With a menu that includes amazing prime rib and seafood, The Blue Ox stands as one of the best dining experiences in Ocean City restaurants. They have over 30 tv’s and are very family friendly; making the Blue Ox a perfect place to watch the big game. The Blue Ox is taking reservations, so contact (410)250-6440 for more details.
Raven’s Roost #58 is located at the “soon to be world famous” 28th Street Pit & Pub. Tailgating is a big deal at any football game and barbecue always steals the show. 28th Street Pit & Pub is already a great Ocean City bar, but their food menu features some of the best tailgating items anywhere on the island. They are the only authentic smokehouse in Ocean City, and they can accommodate large tour groups, private parties, and they cater as well. Pit & Pub’s menu features pulled pork, slow roasted ribs and the “Pub Tub Feast”, a seafood celebration that gets you as close to New Orleans as you can possibly get.
Although not an “official” Raven’s Roost, The Original Green Turtle -located at the Coastal Hwy. and Jamestown Road intersection- will be packed to the shell with Ravens fans. The Turtle has some of the best grub around and their menu features items like “hog hammers”, Maryland crab soup, and the obligatory menagerie of chicken wings (featuring over 10 different sauces).
Of course most of the bars and restaurants in Ocean City will be open for this historic Super Bowl, so if your favorite spot isn’t on this list just give them a call so you can show your purple pride.
